Last weekend, our members gathered at Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) for an intense and rewarding Austere First Aid training session. This immersive program was designed to equip participants with critical skills and knowledge to provide aid in extreme situations and low-resource environments.
Training Highlights
The course combined theoretical lessons, hands-on practice, and real-world experience shared by seasoned professionals. Participants were not only introduced to the core principles of austere first aid but also exposed to stories of resilience and response from some of the most catastrophic events in recent history, including:
The 2004 Aceh Tsunami
The 2014 Kelantan "Bah Kuning" Floods
The 2015 Nepal Earthquake relief efforts with Red Cross and Mercy Malaysia
These powerful stories offered invaluable insights into disaster response, highlighting both the challenges faced and the vital role of preparedness.
