Clinic build: 4 to 7 Nov 2021
Floating jetty build:
Responding to the pressing needs of the Jakun Tribe Orang Asli community in Kampung Tewowoh, located in the Endau District just outside the Endau Rompin National Park, our team embarked on a mission of care and transformation. From 4 to 7 November 2021, a group of 65 dedicated volunteers and 22 4x4 trucks arrived to make a meaningful difference.
The cornerstone of this mission was the construction of a purpose-built container clinic—the first of its kind in the area. Fully equipped with medical furniture, lights, and solar-powered electricity, this clinic will serve as a vital resource for the villagers. It is designed to accommodate visiting volunteer doctors from our network and JAKOA, as well as to act as a first-aid base for the community. This marks a significant step forward in ensuring accessible healthcare for the Orang Asli of Kampung Tewowoh.
Over four days, our volunteers worked tirelessly to bring improvements across the village, including:
Building four community toilets, complete with running water and solar lighting.
Enhancing the village’s water supply for better hygiene and sanitation.
Distributing 14.5 tonnes of food aid to over 495 families in Kampung Tewowoh and six other surrounding villages, delivered by 4x4 trucks and boats.
Hosting a community dinner on the final day to foster camaraderie and gratitude among villagers and volunteers alike.
This mission was made possible through the incredible support of our sponsors and partners:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Edwards Lifesciences
Rise Against Hunger
NOKO
X3SI, who generously donated medical furniture, equipment, and supplies.
This project not only provided immediate relief but also laid the foundation for long-term improvement in healthcare, sanitation, and food security for the Jakun Tribe community. The collaboration between volunteers, sponsors, and the villagers exemplified the power of unity and shared purpose in making a real impact.
The new clinic, solar-powered facilities, and enhanced water systems will serve as lasting reminders of what can be achieved when people come together to support one another. For Kampung Tewowoh and its surrounding villages, this mission was not just about relief—it was about empowerment, resilience, and hope for a brighter future.
