From 4 to 7 November 2021, we embarked on a mission of compassion and preparation, spending a purposeful weekend with seven Orang Asli kampungs in the Endau region. With the year-end rainy season looming and the threat of floods growing imminent, our team rallied together to prepare Contingency Food Reserves for these communities to ensure they had essential supplies in case of emergencies.
75 passionate volunteers joined forces with 31 4x4 trucks to pack and deliver much-needed supplies and support to our Jakun Orang Asli children, sisters, and brothers. The atmosphere was electric, filled with camaraderie and a shared sense of purpose as volunteers worked tirelessly to pack and distribute the food reserves.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible sponsors:
Edwards LifeSciences,
Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and
Rise Against Hunger.
Their generosity and commitment to uplifting marginalized communities have made a lasting impact on the lives of these Orang Asli families.
This weekend wasn’t just about distributing food; it was about building resilience. By preparing for potential floods, we’ve taken a proactive step to ensure these communities are better equipped to face future challenges. It’s a reminder that even small acts of kindness, when multiplied by many, can create a ripple effect of positive change.
